WASTE MANAGEMENT

With a rigorous environmental policy, we have invested human and technical resources to specialize in the recovery and regeneration of refrigerant gases, thus reducing our waste and that of our customers, and reusing them whenever possible.
Gas Servei S.A. as waste manager AR/GRP-93 and waste transporter T-1165 offers all the services of waste recovery and transportation, analysis, regeneration, destruction and certification to its customers.
The regenerated refrigerant gas meets the same quality and purity specifications as a virgin refrigerant, and therefore, with the specifications of the AHRI-700 Standard.
The waste management of fluorinated gases is mandatory and Gas Servei offers a comprehensive management to make this process as comfortable and agile as possible.
THE PROCESS
WASTE TREATMENT CONTRACT (CTR)
All companies authorized to handle fluorinated gases must have a waste contract with a waste manager such as Gas Servei.
SUPPLY OF CONTAINERS AND RECOVERY MACHINES
Qualified companies must have the necessary means for the recovery of fluorinated gases and, therefore, have the necessary containers and recovery machines. Gas Servei offers you special recovery containers of 14.5, 27 and 61L capacity, delivered internally clean and vacuumed. The containers are equipped with a two-stage valve with safety device to protect the user in case of overfilling and eliminate the risk of explosion.
We also offer machines for the recovery of both small and large volumes of refrigerant gas.
COLLECTION BY AUTHORIZED TRANSPORT
Once the customer has recovered the gas and has filled out the recovery form, he/she will proceed to notify the Gas Servei waste department of the collection. In an authorized vehicle, Gas Servei will collect the recovered gas and transport it to its plant in Zaragoza, where it will be treated accordingly.
ANALYSIS
Upon receipt of the recovery containers, the gas recovered from each container will be analyzed with a gas chromatograph to study the feasibility of regeneration or, if not, its destruction.
REGENERATION
The regeneration process is carried out in our waste treatment plant in Zaragoza.
Regeneration according to AHRI-700 Standard consists of the following series of processes:
– Oil separation.
– Moisture and particle removal.
– Separation of uncondensable gases and other impurities.
The regenerated gas will be valued or returned to the customer in perfect conditions of use.
In the EU, reclaimed refrigerant gases with a GWP greater than 2,500, such as R-404A, may be used for the maintenance and servicing of existing refrigeration and air conditioning equipment until January 1, 2030.
Furthermore, in Spain, the tax on reclaimed fluorinated gases (F-Gas) will be 50% lower than the value of the same virgin refrigerant.
DESTRUCTION
Destruction is carried out in an authorized incineration plant.
In the EU, HCFC products, such as R-22, if recovered from an installation, must be sent to an authorized manager for destruction and cannot be regenerated.
CERTIFICATION
Gas Servei will issue the corresponding certificates together with the control and follow-up documents.
