With a rigorous environmental policy, we have invested human and technical resources to become specialised in the recovery and regeneration of refrigerant gases, thus reducing our own waste and that of our customers, and reusing it wherever possible.
Gas Servei S.A. is certified with AR/GRP-93 to manage waste and T-1165 to transport waste, and offers all the services its customers could need for recovery and transport of waste, analysis, regeneration, destruction and certification.
Regenerated refrigerant gas complies with the same quality and purity specifications as a virgin refrigerant, it therefore complies with the specifications of the AHRI-700 Standard.
Management of fluorinated gas waste is strictly obligatory and at Gas Servei we provide integral management to make this process as straightforward and efficient as possible.

All authorised companies must have the necessary resources for recovering fluorinated gases, they therefore must have cylinders and recovery machines. Gas Servei offers specialised recovery cylinders of 14.5, 27 and 61 litre capacities, delivered empty and fully clean inside. The cylinders are supplied with a two-phase valve and a safety device to protect the user in case of overfilling and eliminate the risk of explosion.
We also offer machines for recovering both large and small volumes of refrigerant gas.
Once the customer has recovered the gas and filled in the recovery form, they should then advise the waste department at Gas Servei that it is ready to be collected. Gas Servei will then collect the recovered gas in an authorised vehicle and transport it to their plant in Zaragoza, where it will be treated as soon as possible.
Once the recovery cylinders have been received, the recovered gas in each cylinder will be analysed using a gas chromatograph in order to assess whether it is viable for regeneration, and if not, it will be destroyed.
The regeneration process is carried out at our waste treatment plant in Zaragoza.
In accordance with the AHRI-700 Standard, the regeneration involves the following series of processes:
– Oil separation.
– Elimination of humidity and particles.
– Separation of non-condensable gases and other impurities.
The regenerated gas will be assessed and returned to the customer in perfectly usable condition.
In the EU, regenerated refrigerant gases with a GWP higher than 2,500, such as R-404A, can be used for the maintenance and repair of existing refrigeration and air conditioning units up to 1 January 2030.
Furthermore, in Spain the tax on regenerated fluorinated gases (GF) is 50% lower than for the same refrigerant in virgin form.
Destruction will take place at an authorised incineration plant.
In the EU, HCFC products, such as R-22, need to be sent to an authorised waste management company to be destroyed if they’ve been recovered from a system, they cannot be regenerated.
Gas Servei will issue the corresponding certificates along with the control and monitoring documents.
